Supports for Job Seekers during COVID-19

Some agencies that offer employment services for job seekers have suspended all in person services, whiles others are continuing to provide services throughout these challenging times.

Several agencies are offering limited in person supports however, through telephone and virtual services, to continue to provide exceptional service to clients, job seekers and employers.

COVID-19 specific services include:

  • Provide support to job seekers, including those experiencing a temporary layoff, find new positions currently being offered.
  • Consultations to job seekers who are temporarily laid off/terminated seeking information on financial supports available, basic need supports, mental health services/referrals and the like.
  • Assisting job seekers access the community resources and support networks needed such as: mental health services or job preparedness servicesAll EO agencies are well versed in community supports that employees may need to access during the lay off period.
