We are excited to take part in Workforce Week, alongside Lambton College and SLEP’s Bridging Global Talent Project.This week will include an exciting kick off speaker, virtual presentations by local experts, and an in-person job fair. Several sessions are geared specifically towards employers, including: Workforce Week Keynote – Workforce Week will launch with a dynamic presentation by Ryan Porter from Ruutly on how to bridge the gap between employers and job seekers. Ryan will discuss challenges faced and ways in which both sides can create more meaningful connections throughout the recruitment process. Digital Marketing in 2022 to Promote your Business – In this session, Chrissy McRoberts, owner of Dog Eat Dog, will discuss her digital marketing journey, the importance of authenticity in connecting with customers, and offer advice for anyone who is just starting out with their online marketing. Sourcing Talent Through Employment Ontario – Kate Goodhand from Community Employment Services will discuss training incentives and employer eligibility. Diversity in the Workplace: Hiring Global Talent – Heather Carswell will discuss Bridging Global Talent in Sarnia-Lambton, a new initiative to help grow the local economy through workforce development and enhancing the overall job-seeking experience of international graduates. Managing Expectations in Virtual/Hybrid Work – Both managers and employees acknowledge that working virtually presents opportunities and obstacles. In this session, Lisa will identify the challenges presented by remote work and ways that both employers and employees can work together to eliminate confusion by setting clear expectations.
