Heavy duty equipment technicians work with a variety of heavy duty equipment and vehicles, including cranes, graders, tractors, paving equipment, off-road haulers, and earthmovers. They must be able to identify and repair problems in structural, mechanical, or hydraulic systems according to specifications. They follow written instructions and blueprints, test repaired equipment, clean and lubricate vehicle parts, and perform routine maintenance work.
